How Predictions Work
Our prediction engine uses a multi-layer approach to evaluate each game:
- Data collection — We pull live game data, team records, player stats, odds, and injury reports from multiple sources.
- Feature extraction — Dozens of features are computed: win percentages, Elo ratings, rest days, home/away splits, head-to-head history, and more.
- Model ensemble — Multiple models analyze the features independently, and their predictions are combined for more robust results.
- Conviction scoring — Each prediction is graded on seven dimensions (model consensus, market alignment, simulation confidence, and more) to assign a conviction tier.
Conviction Tiers
Not all predictions are created equal. Our conviction router grades every pick on a 0-100 composite score:
Highest confidence (score 88+). Multiple models strongly agree, market data aligns, and simulation results are decisive.
High confidence (score 75-87). Strong model agreement with good supporting data. These are solid picks.
Moderate confidence (score 57-74). The model sees an edge, but there's more uncertainty. Proceed with caution.
Low confidence (score below 57). The game is too close to call or there isn't enough data. We recommend sitting this one out.
